Rebeca

Rebeca is from Venezuela and lived in Sri Lanka for two years before coming to Uganda at the end of 2016. She discovered yoga nine years ago but it was during her time in Asia that she immersed in the enchanting practices of the East. She did her Teacher Training in Koh Phangan, Thailand at the beginning of 2016 and since then she has been teaching Vinyasa and Hatha yoga. She completed a course on Ayurveda and she is a qualified Reiki practitioner. In her yoga classes, she combines pranayama and meditation techniques to offer students the whole yoga experience. Rebeca also has a Degree in International Relations and a Master’s Degree in Social Communication.

Favorite style(s) to teach: Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin
Favorite quote: “Lookah Samaskha Sukinu Bavhantu,” which is sometimes translated as: “may all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”
Favorite pose: Salamba Sirsasana (Supported Head Stand). This pose shows the importance of being constant to achieve something, to conquering your fear of falling down, and most importantly it shows the importance of keeping your mind quiet. If you have the physical strength to do this pose but you don’t know how to control your monkey mind, you won’t be able to hold it. This pose represents the holistic vision of Yoga—you need both mental and physical strength.
